Legendary Gear Old Man Hedge Tips & Tails Canada Goose Call

The Legendary Gear Old Man Hedge Tips & Tails is a wood Canada goose call built for hunters who want a deep, smooth voice in an approachable short-reed design. At approximately 5.625 inches long, the Old Man uses an extended barrel and insert with tighter internal dimensions to create added constriction and a resonant, hollow tone suited to reproducing the sounds of large Canada geese. Its easy-running character requires less aggressive air than shorter calls in the Legendary Gear lineup, helping developing callers learn proper control while still giving experienced hunters the volume and range needed to work birds in changing field conditions. The installed Guts of Glory system is broken in before use, supporting clean breakover and practical production of fundamental goose sounds such as honks and clucks. This exact version is made from hedge wood in the distinctive Tips & Tails configuration, which places contrasting dark treatment at the ends of the call while retaining the warm appearance and visible character of the wood through the center sections. Legendary Gear’s wood-call production process includes CNC machining, careful sanding, sealing and repeated clear-coat finishing before the call is engraved and completed. Each call is personally hand-tuned by game-call designer and hunting professional George Lynch. The finished call measures approximately 1.125 inches across and weighs 2.8 ounces, making it substantial enough for controlled handling without adding excessive bulk to a waterfowl lanyard. Whether it is being used as a caller’s first serious short-reed goose call or added to an established collection, the Old Man combines traditional wood construction, straightforward operation and a lower-pitched Canada goose voice in a field-ready hunting tool.
