Types of Red Dots

When it comes to red dot scopes there are a couple of different types of red dots which are:

  • Holographic
  • Reflex
  • Prismatic

  • Holographic Red Dots :

    Use holographic technology to project the reticle onto a screen allowing an unobstructed view of the target. They can offer a wide field of very and typically are very durable but are more expensive than reflex red dots. A popular model is the Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 Gen II Holographic Sight.

  • Reflex Red Dots :

    These red dots project a reticle onto a lens providing a clear line of sight to the target, however they do not magnify the target in any way.
