As an on-going partner with Pleasant Hill Lake Parks, we hope to be a great source of information for their events this summer. Here is a list of some of their upcoming events:
Friday, July 27th – Moonlight Kayak
9pm-11pm: Enjoy a kayak tour of Pleasant Hill Lake by the light of the full moon! Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. $25 per participant includes gate fee, instruction, and equipment! Pre-registration & waivers are required for all participants. Must be 12 years-old.
Friday & Saturday, July 27th – 28th – Wild West Fest & Music
Friday, July 27th
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Nature Room Open- Stop by and see what’s new at the nature break room, with animals and games.
9:00 PM – 11:00 PM – Moonlight Kayak Trip- Enjoy a kayak tour of Pleasant Hill Lake by the light of the full moon! Bring your own equipment or borrow ours. Boat, paddle, life jacket, and light provided. Boat capacity limits apply. Meet at the beach. $25 per participant includes gate fee, instruction, and equipment! Or $15 bring your own equipment. Pre-registration is required at camp store/registration.
Saturday, July 28th
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Explorers of Nature – Back Yard Jungle- Learn all about trees and how to identify them Explorers of Nature programs for kids, ages 4-15, to discover the nature around us! Attend 3 programs throughout the summer and earn a limited-edition water bottle! This week kids learn about trees, scavenger hunt and make leaf rubbings to take home. $5 per person, Pre-registration required at the camp office or register at program.
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Petting Farm & Pony Rides- Come visit the live farm animals and take a pony ride. Open to all ages, event is FREE. The event will be held at the Welcome Center building area.
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Live Music: Backporch Swing Band at the Welcome Center. Come sit and relax to the music overlooking the lake. Live caller Square Dancing & Line Dancing.
Monday – Thursday, July 30th to August 2nd – Outdoor Skills Kids Camp
This camp is for kids ages 10 to 17, to discover outdoor adventure skills including kayaking, archery, fishing, and camping! The camp runs from 9am to noon and focuses on a different skill each day. All equipment is provided. Registration required and limited to 20 kids per day.
$45 for the entire camp includes all equipment and instruction The final day of camp includes the Passport to Fishing course, free of charge, and all participants that complete the course will receive a rod, reel, and tackle box to take home!
Meet at the Welcome Center and then head outdoors for each adventure!
Monday, July 30th 9am-12pm: Archery / BB Guns
Tuesday, July 31st 9am- 12pm: Kayaking / Stand Up Paddle boarding
Wednesday, August 1st 9am-12pm: Camping / Backpacking
Thursday, August 2nd 9am-12pm: Fishing / Fly Tying – Complete this Passport to Fishing program and take home a rod and reel to keep!

2pm – 4pm: DR. INSECTA’S PROGRAM- Welcome Center
Traveling Magic Show through the park area WATCH FOR THE DOCTOR 2pm-3pm
More fun and Magic at the Insect Show at 3pm

Saturday, August 25th – Mermaid & Pirate Kids Day
10am -12pm: Come and spend the day at the Mermaid & Pirate kids Day with Mermaid Tami. Try your hand at some games, make a craft & visit the Mermaid Grotto for some mermaid treasure, take photos with Mermaid Tami and end the afternoon with a mermaid swim! Make sure not to miss it, this is the last mermaid event of the season! For ages 5 and up.
